Oil and gas companies are continuously threatened with cyber attacks by hacktivists, state-sponsored hackers and online criminals. Anonymous for example is conducting a new campaign dubbed OpPetrol to protest against the West?s domination of the world?s resources, principally against the energy sector for the adoption of US dollars as currency for oil exchange.
Against this backdrop, with Oil and Gas Cyber Security to become a $1.87bn industry by 2018, SMi's timely 3rd annual event tackles these latest developments and more. The two-day programme will address the measures being taken to bolster cyber security with case studies provided by Petroleum Development Oman, Shell, GDF Suez highlighting what is being done to protect highly valuable intellectual property and commercially sensitive information on production, exploration plans and assets.
