CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Two young Cincinnati girls joined the fight to end kids' cancer by hosting a lemonade stand to honor the memory of Caroline Carter on Saturday afternoon.

Five-year-old Mia and 3-year-old Frankie never met Carter, a cousin who lost her life to neuroblastoma in 2007. The girls raised funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a non-profit organization that has raised more than $60 million toward finding a cure on a national level.

The ALSF was founded in 2000, when four-year-old Alexandra "Alex" Scott, a cancer patient, announced that she wanted to help find a cure for all children with cancer through a lemonade stand.

Since Alex's start in 2000, the Foundation has turned Alex's vision into a national movement with thousands of supporters across the country.

Proceeds from Mia and Frankie's lemonade stand will help fund more than 300 research projects nationally.
