Golf: Westwood two clear at Muirfield

Lee Westwood will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the Open Championship after a third-round one-under par 70.

The 40-year-old mixed three birdies and one eagle with four bogeys to place himself at the top of the leaderboard on -3 in testing conditions at Muirfield.
The Englishman has yet to win a major and he will have to hold off the attentions of some big-name players if he is to break his duck on Sunday, with world number one Tiger Woods lurking just two shots behind and in a tie for second with fellow US star Hunter Mahan.
Woods managed just two birdies all day and dropped shots at the fourth, seventh and 17th in his round of 72, but remains in contention alongside Mahan, whose 68 included five birdies and two bogeys.
Masters champion and last year's Open runner-up Adam Scott is still in with a great chance of taking the title as he carded a round of 70 to sit on even par.
With the course rock hard and pars hard to come by on some holes, there are a number of players currently over par who might still have a say in proceedings.
US duo Ryan Moore and Zach Johnson are nicely poised at +1, with Argentina's Angel Cabrera and Sweden's Henrik Stenson also on that mark.
Phil Mickelson's 72 sees him sit on two-over par and five shots adrift of the leader, with Francesco Molinari also on that score with 18 holes to go.
But it was a day to forget for second-round leader Miguel Angel Jimenez, who carded a 77 to slip back to +3, and he has Sergio Garcia, Brandt Snedeker, Jamie Donaldson, Hideki Matsuyama, Jason Day and Dustin Johnson for company heading into the final day.
All eyes will be on Westwood on Sunday to see if he can continue Britain's amazing summer of sport but Woods has the experience and pedigree and it looks set to be a cracking final round north of the border.
