Many of these websites feature a biography of the instructor. If this information is not available you could call the studio or gym and ask to speak to the instructor or set up an appointment to talk to them about the class and their credentials.
You may find that you have to try several different instructors and different types of Pilates classes to find one that you really enjoy. After taking a few classes or private sessions with a qualified Pilates instructor you may also find that you are confident enough to continue your practice at home, on the beach or wherever you feel most comfortable.
